On 12th December 2008, on the occasion of 5th anniversary of the death of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Romania organized in Tei Park - Heydar Aliyev alley the commemoration ceremony.

         At the ceremony have participated national officials, Government officials, members of Parliament, members of the Foundation "Heydar Aliyev" - Romanian Representative, of the Friendship Association Romania - Azerbaijan, of the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry Romania - Azerbaijan, the board of Association of Culture and Youth of Azerbaijan and Romania, the collaborators of Romanian representative of SOCAR, the members of Foundation "Paul Polidor", of the Turkish and Tatar community, the students who receive the Heydar Aliyev scholarship, the Azerbaijani who lives in the country and representatives of local press.

         Flower wreath was laid at the Heydar Aliyev bust, and one minute silence was kept. The participants to event made a picture at the national leader's bust.

         Later on, the event continued in the Foundation "Heydar Aliyev" - Romanian representative. There, Mr. Ambassador Eldar Hasanov spoke in details about the life, the activity of the great politician Heydar Aliyev, about his inestimable merits in the consolidation of the independence of Azerbaijan, in creation of a democratic, legal secular state, in the consolidation of stability of our country.

         The President of the Friendship Association Romania - Azerbaijan, the professor Dumitru Balan, and the Director of the Foundation "Heydar Aliyev" - Romanian Representative, Iqbal Hajiyev have spoken about the significant role of Heydar Aliyev in the establishment of the friendship between our countries, about the benefic activity of the Foundation, which have the name of the national leader Heydar Aliyev.

         The participants have visited the picture exhibition, organized in the Representative, have watched the documentary movie, dedicated to the life and activity of Heydar Aliyev.

         The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Romania, Mr. Eldar Hasanov thanked all for the participation at the commemoration of the national leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev.
