OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE PRESIDENT OF ROMANIA
TRAIAN BASESCU IN AZERBAIJAN
At the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the Romanian leader was welcomed by Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Romania Eldar Hasanov and Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Nicolae Ureche.
After short meeting with the Prime Minister, Traian Basescu headed to his temporary residence in Baku.
PRESIDENT OF ROMANIA VISITS ALLEY OF MARTYRS
President of Romania Trian Basescu and his delegation accompanied by deputy foreign minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov, Mayor of Baku Hajibala Abutalibov and other officials have visited the Alley of Martyrs in Baku, 11 October.
The Romanian President and his delegation laid flowers on graves of courageous sons of Azerbaijan who fell for freedom and territorial integrity of Motherland.
VISITING HEYDAR ALIYEV'S TOMB
The same day, President of Romania Trian Basescu and his delegation visited the Alley of Honors to revere memory of the nationwide leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. Romanian President also laid flowers on grave of the renowned ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Khanum Aliyeva.
Mayor of Baku informed the guest on history of the Alley of Honors.
WELCOMING CEREMONY AT PRESIDENT PALACE
On 11 October, the ceremony of welcoming of the Romanian President took place at President Palace.
President of Romania revered the Guard of Honor.
Heads of State were taken their photos.
PRESIDENTS OF AZERBAIJAN AND ROMANIA MEET IN PRIVATE
On 11 October, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Romania Trian Basescu met in private.
In meeting, the Presidents expressed consent with successful development of political-economic links between two countries, noted existence of greater potential for economic cooperation.
The sides also underlined expansion of bilateral relations in the process of integration to the Euro-Atlantic structures.
AZERBAIJAN, ROMANIA: DOCUMENTS SIGNED
Ceremony of signing of the documents was held immediately after the one-on-one meeting of the heads of state.
The Presidents signed Joint Declaration.
The signed documents included: "Agreement on cooperation in the field of culture", signed by minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Abulfaz Garayev and State Secretary for Cultural and Religious Affairs of Romania Adrian Lemeni;
"Memo on cooperation" between Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan and the National Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives, signed by Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Heydar Babyev and the Minister of Economy and Trade of Romania Ian Codruts Seres;
Also was signed a protocol to the earlier concluded governmental document on trade-economic relations and scientific-technical cooperation and a protocol on encouragement of investments between the two governments.
PRESIDENTS OF AZERBAIJAN AND ROMANIA HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE
On 11 October, after the cooperation documents were signed, the President of Azerbaijan and President of Romania held a joint news conference, at which the heads of state made statements, then answered questions of media representatives.
PRESIDENTS OF ROMANIA AND AZERBAIJAN ATTEND OPENING OF MONUMENT
TO FAMOUS ROMANIAN COMPOSER GEORGE ENESCU
Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan Traian Besescu of Romania laid flowers at the monument to famous Romanian composer George Enescu, which they had unveiled in Baku on Wednesday.
The two leaders made remarks at the opening ceremony.

ROMANIAN PRESIDENT VISITS HEYDAR ALIYEV FOUNDATION
On October 12, Romanian President Traian Basescu and his accompanying delegation arrived at the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Here, they were welcomed by President Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva.
The guests saw a documentary film about the Foundation's activity.
President of the Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva informed the guests about the activity of the Foundation, which she said is directed towards propagandizing the Heydar Aliyev heritage, Azerbaijan's culture and history as well as implementing the nationwide leader-initiated international projects.
After viewing the photo-stands reflecting different periods of Heydar Aliyev's life and activity, Mr. Basescu signed the Foundation's Book for Honorary Guests.
ROMANIAN PRESIDENT VISITS MILLI MAJLIS
Romania's President Traian Basescu today visited the Milli Majlis (the Parliament of Azerbaijan).
After Traian Basescu and Azerbaijani Speaker Oqtay Asadov met behind closed doors, the meeting continued in the presence of the two countries' delegations.
Mr. Asadov said Azerbaijan attaches great importance to relations with Romania, which he said was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan's independence.
On the Azerbaijan-Romania interparliamentary relations, the Speaker said reciprocal visits by the two countries' parliamentarians will contribute to further enhancement of the bilateral ties.
Oqtay Asadov expressed his gratitude to Romanian leader for supporting Azerbaijan's equitable stance on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Traian Basescu, in his turn, stressed the role of parliaments in development of the bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Romania.
Mr. Basescu said Romanian Speaker had invited Oqtay Asadov to visit his country.
Later same day, the President of Romania had a round table dinner with Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Artur Rasizade during which they discussed prospects of further strengthening the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and other questions.
Traian Basescu also visited the Baku State University where he was presented with the diploma of the Honorary Doctor of the University.
ROMANIAN PRESIDENT ENDS HIS BAKU VISIT
President of Romania Traian Basescu ended his state visit to Azerbaijan today and headed home.
At the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the Romanian leader was seen off by Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and other top-ranked officials.
